
Nitrile Rubber (NBR)
Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is the common term used to describe Acrylonitrile Butadiene Copolymer, a thermoset elastomer which is the most common sealing material used in industry today.
Nitrile Rubber compounds offer good resistance to compression set, extrusion and abrasion, whilst being relatively low in cost.
NBR properties
The major influence that determines the physical properties of Nitrile is the Acrylonitrile content of the compound (or ACN as it is commonly referred to). A Nitrile compound with a high ACN content will provide the material with improved abrasion resistance, tensile strength and a greater resistance to oils and solvents. A Nitrile with a lower ACN content however, gives the material better low temperature flexibility and improved resilience.

Max: +100°C73 Shore A A soft NBR / BUNA-N, which has excellent elasticity and compression-set characteristics, making it an excellent choice for low-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic seals or energising elements for composite type seals.

White FDA Compliant NBRMin: -30°C
Max: +100°C85 Shore A A white sulphur cured NBR which is a good choice for food and beverage applications.
