  • Nitrile Rubber (NBR)

    Nitrile Rubber (NBR) is the common term used to describe Acrylonitrile Butadiene Copolymer, a thermoset elastomer which is the most common sealing material used in industry today.

    Nitrile Rubber compounds offer good resistance to compression set, extrusion and abrasion, whilst being relatively low in cost.

    NBR properties

    The major influence that determines the physical properties of Nitrile is the Acrylonitrile content of the compound (or ACN as it is commonly referred to). A Nitrile compound with a high ACN content will provide the material with improved abrasion resistance, tensile strength and a greater resistance to oils and solvents. A Nitrile with a lower ACN content however, gives the material better low temperature flexibility and improved resilience.

    85 Shore A A general purpose NBR / Nitrile / BUNA-N, with good physical characteristics and chemical resistance to the most common hydraulic industry fluids such as Mineral Oils, HFA, HFB and HFC.

    Hard Grade 95a Nitrile Rubber

    95 Shore A
    A general purpose NBR / Nitrile / BUNA-N with increased hardness.
    NBR-B90
    Black Hard Grade 90a Nitrile Rubber

    90 Shore A
    A general purpose NBR / Nitrile / BUNA-N with increased hardness.
    NBR-B75
    75a Shore Nitrile Rubber
    Min: -30°C
    Max: +100°C
    73 Shore A

    A soft NBR / BUNA-N, which has excellent elasticity and compression-set characteristics, making it an excellent choice for low-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic seals or energising elements for composite type seals.

    80 Shore A A soft NBR material that has been modified to provide excellent low-temperature flexibility and elasticity.
