  • Products & Materials

  • We offer seals manufactured from a wide variety of materials, including:

    • Nitrile (NBR)
    • Viton / FKM
    • EPDM
    • Silicone
    • PTFE
    • Polyurethane (PU)
    • Neoprene (CR)
    • Material selection depends on factors such as temperature, pressure, chemical exposure, and operating environment.

Selecting the correct seal depends on several factors:

    • Operating pressure
    • Temperature range
    • Fluid Compatibility
    • Shaft or bore dimensions
    • Movement type (rotary, static, reciprocating)
    • If you are unsure, contact our technical team and they can help recommend the most suitable sealing solution for your application.

Yes. If you have an existing seal that needs replacement, we can often identify and supply an equivalent or improved alternative. We can reverse engineer from a sample seal, or can use technical drawings or dimensions and material specifications to source or manufacture a suitable replacement.

Yes, we offer sample seals and prototype seals for testing and evaluation. It is important to test the seals in the specific application.

Yes, we have product catalogues available online for our O-Rings, Sanitary Seals, Hydraulic Seals, Oil Seals, PTFE seals and X-Rings.

  • Orders & Delivery

  • Seals can be ordered through our webshop, by phone or by emailing our sales team. Details can be found on our contact page.

Minimum order quantities vary depending on the product type and whether the item is standard or custom manufactured. We have a minimum order amount for non-account holders. Please contact us for specific details.

  • Troubleshooting & Technical Support

  • Yes, our team provides technical support and product guidance to help customers select the right sealing solution. We can assist with:

    • Seal selection
    • Material compatibility
    • Troubleshooting seal failures
    • Custom design enquiries

Yes. If a seal has failed prematurely, our team can review the application conditions and help determine the likely cause, such as:

    • Incorrect material selection
    • Excessive pressure or temperature
    • Chemical incompatibility
    • Installation issues
    • We can then recommend an improved sealing solution.

A failed seal is typically identified by visible leaks, moisture infiltration or degraded material performance. The most obvious sign is fluid or lubricant escaping around the seal. You may also notice if the seal is cracked, swollen, flattened or extruded. Or you may notice performance issues with your machinery, such as reduced pressure in hydraulic systems or sudden drops in system efficiency, or a machine may run hot or make more noise than usual due to loss of lubricants.

Yes, we can visit you to provide on-site support for consultation, troubleshooting or installation assistance.

Yes, they can be found in the download centre on our website.

  • Installation & Maintenance

  • Avoiding damage during fitting is a big concern. Ensure the area is clean, lubricate the seal, avoid sharp edges, and consider warming the seal to improve flexibility. Use a driver tool if necessary to press it in evenly without damaging or distorting it. The sealing lip/spring should face the fluid, and the seal must be seated square to the shaft to prevent leaks.

Ensure you have selected the correct seal size and material for your application and follow the recommended installation torque where applicable. Lightly lubricate the seal with a compatible lubricant to prevent damage during installation. Make sure the seal is installed in a clean, properly designed groove and compressed correctly (typically with 10–30% squeeze) to achieve an effective seal.

Yes, you should almost always use lubrication when installing seals. Proper lubrication ensures the seal sits correctly, prevents damage during installation and extends the life of the component.

Storage conditions can affect the shelf life of seals so they should be stored in a cool, dry place, avoiding exposure to UV light, moisture and ozone. Store them away from direct heat sources, electric motors, or contaminants like solvents and oils.

  • Quality & Compliance

  • M Seals is certified in quality management (ISO 9001), environmental management (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety management (ISO 45001) and for the aviation, space and defence industries (AS/EN 9120). You can find the certificates in our download centre.

We closely follow the applicable laws and standards for chemical substances, including PFAS, REACH, and RoHS. Please see our Declarations of Conformity.

Yes, we have many seals that conform to FDA CFR 21, as well as EC No 1935/2004 and EC No 10/2011.

Yes, we have several NORSOK M-710 compliant materials (e.g. TFE/P, FFKM, FKM, HNBR, PTFE, PEEK, HPU) that have passed rigorous testing for rapid gas decompression (RGD) and sour gas (H₂S) resistance.

Yes, please let us know your traceability requirements and these will be incorporated into the quality requirements for your part(s).
